Cutting Edge Technologies and the Future of Clean Energy
Taking place in tandem with the Green Frontier Fest on Sunday, then continuing throughout the Democratic National Convention, the New Energy Station will showcase Denver and Colorado's new energy innovations through a number of displays and applications in Sculpture Park that highlight environmentally-responsible energy technologies and practices.
Held at the same location as the Green Frontier Fest, the New Energy Station will be free and open to the public from Sunday, August 24 though Thursday, August 28, during the hours of 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. Please note: These extended dates are for the New Energy Station ONLY - (Green Frontier Fest is a single day event on Sunday, August 24)
Highlights of the New Energy Station include the Xcel Energy Solar Decathlon House that demonstrates the latest in residential efficiency and solar technology, a 140-foot long wind turbine blade, a bike station that will be powered by a mobile solar unit, and the new Xcel Energy Smart Grid application display - an innovation found in Boulder, CO - the first city in the U.S. to deploy this Smart Grid system.

- The 2008 Rocky Mountain Roundtable, Monday 8/25 - Wednesday 8/27, Open to the public. Fostering civic engagement and substantive dialogue during the 2008 Democratic National Convention, the 2008 Rocky Mountain Roundtable is a series of 10 issue-oriented, non-partisan discussions on many of the most critical issues of the day, including women in leadership, energy and climate change, health, international relations, transportation infrastructure, philanthropy, emergency preparedness, technology, retirement security, and education. Participants include dignitaries from across the country and around the world, including former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, NBC News journalist Tom Brokaw, actor and director Ben Affleck, and former U.S. Senator and Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle.
- Unconventional Women, Monday, 8/25; 9AM - 2PM - Hosted by Ambassador Swanee Hunt in partnership with The White House Project, the Latina Initiative, Women's Voices Women Vote, and Judi Wagner's Electing Women program, Unconventional Women features non-partisan conversations among internationally-known leaders and experts intended to galvanize women into political action as candidates, supporters, and mentors. It is expected to attract 2,700 women for high-level training toward attracting more women into the political process.
